A MEISSEN OVAL TUREEN, COVER AND STAND of bombé form, moulded with spiralling gadroons and painted with loose bouquets and scattered flowers, within ozier moulded borders reserved with insects and gilt rims, the finial modelled as a girl wearing a pink drape and holding an upturned cornucopia, spilling its contents of fruit and leaves, the leaf and scroll-moulded handles enriched in pink, gilding and turquoise feuilles-de-choux, blue crossed swords marks, tureen incised No. 1, circa 1880
