A PAIR OF MEISSEN JARDINIÈRES of slightly lobed circular section, modelled with two bearded satyr-mask handles wearing pink and gilt head-dresses, painted with continuous scenes of figures, ships and buildings in mountainous estuaries, some loading barrels, others with fishing-nets, the lobes delineated by vertical ciselé gilt stripes below moulded gilt scrolls at the rims (one with chip to footrim and to horn of one satyr, the other with chip to rim and to one horn, minor wear to gilding), blue crossed swords and star marks, incised E 174, one with indistinct Pressnumer, circa 1860
