A BERLIN CASKET AND HINGED COVER IN THE FORM OF A COMMODE, the corners moulded with foliate scrolls enriched in gilding and surmounted with two cherub heads on the front corners, the white and pale-yellow ground painted on the cover with a cherub seated on a cluster of flower-blossoms within a moulded mirror-shaped cartouche of scrolls and trellis-pattern, the front and sides painted with displays of garden-flowers within similar cartouches, the borders painted in gilding with flowers, foliate-scrolls, trellis-pattern and with a central sunburst, on four scroll feet (one moulded scroll lacking), velvet-lined interior, hinge incised Koenigl Porzellan Manufactur Berlin, blue sceptre and iron-red KPM and globe marks, circa 1895
