A GILT-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN TWO-HANDLED JARDINIÈRE, the bleu celeste ground enriched in gilding and reserved with a continuous frieze of putti in an extensive landscape with ruined buildings, the front with six playful putti around a felled tree-trunk, the reverse with two putti carrying bunches of grapes accompanied by a cymbalist, mounted with a metal liner, two spindle-shaped handles suspending rings and raised on double-scroll supports with acanthus-leaf terminals, a flared stem cast with a two-tiered band of gadroons and a laurel wreath and with a footed square base (wear to gilding), circa 1860
