A FRENCH GILT-METAL-MOUNTED TAPERING OVIFORM VASE AND DOMED COVER, the white ground enriched in a lustrous pink and grey and painted with a woman holding an iris, wearing an anthemion head-dress, a white dress and a pink-lined blue robe, standing before a ciselé gilt sun outlined with flowers and flanked by large sprays of irises, the reverse similarly painted with a young girl holding a carnation and pink drapery, wearing a white dress and pink-lined blue robe, the flared neck, cover and foot gilt with irises, mounted with a pine-cone finial, a gadrooned rim, two double loop handles extending from the horns of satyr-masks, the lower body with a band of flutes and on a beaded foot, imitation blue interlaced L and France marks, circa 1910
