A GERMAN OVIFORM VASE AND COVER of hexagonal section, painted in a bright palette and in gilding in the Kakiemon style with sprays of flowers issuing from pierced rocks alternating with birds and insects hovering on and above sprays of flowers, the neck painted with a diaper pattern, the cover with a gilt baluster finial (cracks to neck, glaze crazed), blue arrow and monogram mark, circa 1880, probably Grafenthal (Unger, Schneider & Cie.)
