In the early 19th century, furniture was supplied in the antiquarian Kent style to supplement the existing Kent furniture. This table and the following lot 157, no doubt formed part of that consignment along with another table at Wilton and then Luttrelstown (lot 39). The Vitruvian scrolled frieze supported by acanthus-scrolled brackets with imbricated paterae can be found on one of the chimneypieces from Northumberland House, sold by the Duke of Northumberland in these Rooms, 17 November 1988, lot 99
