Dick Graff of Chalone is one of the most respected of all Californian men of wine. The vineyards are on a hill top near the Pinnacles National Monument in Monterey, well to the south of San Fransisco. Graff was a Pinot Noir pioneer, with which he first created a sensation in the early 1970s. The winery subsequently introduced other varietal wines of which the above lot is a range of their top Reserve wines of the excellent 1982 vintage
