A RARE SUZURIBAKO of deeply grained wood decorated in black gold, silver and red hiramakie and inlaid in coloured stoneware with a group of sennin and Daruma yawning, in an inset panel beneath bamboo, some leaves inlaid in mother of pearl, the interior with an uchiwa, an open book and a sceptre, the tsuiteki in the form of a stag, (slate chipped, slight damage to suzuribako), early 18th century
