AN EMPIRE ORMOLU AND BRONZED MANTEL CLOCK with circular enamelled roman-chaptered dial signed Thomire & Ce. à Paris Moinet Ainé Hge. with movement stamped BR 1839 & 72, in a rectangular case with flowerspray spandrels and surmounted by a dove in an arched doorway, the door engraved L'artiste Du Jour, supported by a moustached masked harlequin entwined with ropes, on a rectangular breakfront plinth with roundel back and foliate strapwork frieze mount flanked by insects, on bun feet
