Lot Essay

A very similar table by J.F. and H.W. Spindler, formerly at the Newes Palais, Sanssouci, Potsdam, is illustrated H. Kreisel, Die Kunst des Deutschen Möbels, Munich, 1970, fig. 797.

The inscription probably refers to an owner although in Czechoslovakian Stiastenÿ means a mural. Pohlland is a completely German rendering.
