A well engineered and detailed 5in. gauge model of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway 2-4-0 locomotive and tender 'Asia' originally built by Sharpe Stewart & Co. 1873 and modelled by E.V. Fry -- 14¼ x 52in.(36.2 x 132cm)
With braised copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with shut-off valves, safety, blower, whistle, injector, clack and blow down valves. Chassis details include twin inside cylinders with Stevensons link reverse, ratchet operated lubricator, crosshead driven feed pump and by-pass, injector, whistle and working leaf springs. Further details include dummy Westinghouse vacuum pump and pipework, whistles, lubricators, rivett detail and lamps. Tender details include water cock, hand feed pump, working leaf springs, steps and hand irons. Finished in LCDR livery and lining with polished and plated brightwork.
