An 18th-Century gilt-brass 'Augsburg'-type octagonal universal equinoctial dial, the underside of the compass box engraved Augspurg 48 Grat W·A·R, the hour ring engraved 3-12-9, the engraved base plate with folding latitude arc, silvered compass dial and iron needle with brass cap on pivot - 2 3/8in. (6cm.) wide, with later case.
