A rare late 18th-Century Dutch brass and fruitwood 'Cuff'-type compound monocular microscope, unsigned, the body-tube with lens cap and located on a limb from the rectangular section pillar with rack and pinion adjustment, supporting the cruciform stage and base with scroll bracket and swivel mirror, mounted on mahogany plinth base with drawer of specimen holders and other accessories and contained in an oak pyramid shaped case with two additional accessory drawers - 22in. (55.9cm.) high.
