Lot Essay
Tew Park was much refurbished by George Bullock in 1816-1818 for M.R. Boulton, son of the legendary Matthew. M.R. Boulton had purchased Tew in 1815. It is likely that these samples formed part of the stock of the famous Boulton Soho foundry. They were presumably intended to be inserted into the plinths of decorative urns and similar objects.
