A BLACK AND GILT-JAPANNED CABINET-ON-STAND with later giltwood and black-painted pierced foliate scroll cresting with domed angle finials above a pair of doors decorated with fishermen by a lake, flowers and buildings, the interior with ten variously-sized drawers decorated with birds, figures and buildings, the reverses of the doors with a tree, birds and buildings, the sides with cranes, on a giltwood stand with moulded strapwork and flowerhead edge above a band of ribbon-and-rosette, on six square tapering supports headed by acanthus-carving and divided by a pierced foliate scrolling apron, joined by twin foliate-scrolled X-frame stretchers and on tapering feet, the cabinet late 17th early 18th Century, restorations, the stand re-gilt and reconstructed incorporating some old pieces
