Provenance
Reputedly purchased from a Red Cross sale in 1948 by D. W. Gardiner "from the collection of the Duke of Devonshire, Eton Park". This confused provenance is probably either the Duke of Devonshire or the Duke of Westminster, Eaton Hall, Cheshire
