M. Dutreville (or Dutreuil) is recorded by Neue Støckel as a gunmaker working in Paris in c.1680-90. Jean Louis Carrier (c.1654-1741) was an entrepreneur connected with the arms manufactory at St. Etienne, and was involved with others in the production of the French model 1717 musket
