A RARE PAIR OF FRENCH WHEEL-LOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS with two-stage barrels, flat locks each finely engraved on the tail with flowers, a bird and an insect, and a marine monster agaist a matted ground on the side of the pan, below each pan-cover three small stamped fluer-de-lys between engraved branches each with bud terminal, lightly engraved cocks and cock-springs, fruitwood full stocks (chipped around the locks), iron mounts including flat scroll side-plates, fluted ebony pommels each with iron button with brass rosette-shaped washer, each fore-end with engraved brass ramrod-pipe and fore-end cap, and original ramrods each with engraved iron cap, circa 1625
