INDENTSergeant William Brommell, enlisted in the 46th Regiment, 1842 aged 17 years; he served in the Crimea from 12 October, 1854, was severely wounded in the trenches before Sebastopol, 21 December of that year and his left leg was amputated; unfit for further service, he was discharged, July 1855; his zeal and gallantry in the trenches was rewarded with the French Medaille Militaire
