INDENTMajor Cecil Bradney Jervis Edwards (1866-1901) entered the D.C.L.I. as a Lieutenant from the K.R.R.C. 1885; Captain and later Adjutant 1893; he accompanied the Wuntho Expedition 1891 and commanded a detachment of the 1st. Bn. D.C.L.I.; was employed on Special Service in South Africa from October to December 1899 until his appointment as A.D.C. to Major General Coke, commanding 10th. Infantry Brigade; served as Brigade Major and was present at the relief of Ladysmith; was appointed a Staff Officer for Intelligence, October 1900 (Mentioned in General Redvers Buller's despatches of 30 March, 19 June, 9 November and made Brevet of Major, November 1900); Major Jervis Edwards was killed in action at Mondeivens near Dundee, 28 July, 1901
