INDENTLieutenant Edward G. Cowlard (1878-1901), a Lieutenant in the 2nd. Volunteer Bn. served in South Africa as an officer of the Volunteer Coy. attached to the 2nd. Bn. D.C.L.I.; Lieutenant Cowlard died of enteric fever at Springfontein, 5 March 1901; his name is inscribed on a memorial tablet in the Marborough College Chapel

Private H. Tozer was killed in action at Waterval Boven, 23 November 1900
