INDENTPrivate Leonard Betts served in India and Aden from October 1914 to August 1916; he joined a Bn. of his regiment on the Somme and later accompanied them to the Arras sector where he was wounded in the left leg; he was wounded again a Ypres and invalided to England; he returned to France, was wounded a third time and made a prisoner of war, probably during the German March offensive, 1918; he returned to England at the end of 1918 and was hospitalised until March 1920 in London and in Exeter
