Laverick was severely wounded in action in a position astride the Tripoli Road, North Africa, 2 April 1941; he died the following day and was buried by his platoon; Lance Corporal Robert Harold Haffenden, 1st Bn., was killed in action North Africa, 22 November 1941 and was buried in Halfaya Sollum Military Cemetery; Lance Corporal Joseph White, 2nd Bn., was killed in action Western Desert, North Africa, 5 June 1942
