Lieutenant and served with 17 Squadron in Salonika as Observer from 31 August, 1918; served with 60 Squadron (D.H. 9s), Lahore, India from July 1919 and was present during operations in Waziristan; he served in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and India between the wars and was mainly connected with supplies and stores; Wing Commander, 1939; served in the Middle East during the 2nd. War; prior to his retirement in 1948, he commanded R.A.F. Station Llandaw as Acting Group Captain
