INDENTSergeant William Fred Noble, qualified as Air Gunner, February 1944 and after further training was posted to No. 166 Squadron (Lancasters) in July; he took part in a number of operations from 20 July including those to Wizernes, Kiel, Le Havre, and a number of Flying Bomb sites, U-Boat pens and railway targets in France, Brunswick, Mine laying in Stettin Bay, and Russelheim; his aircraft failed to return from further mining operations in Stettin Bay, 29 August 1944 and he was reported missing, presumed killed in action
