INDENTM.C. London Gazette 21.1.1920 Archangel Command. Lieutenant, Devon Regiment (attd.) 46th Bn., Royal Fusiliers "On August 29th., 1919, when attacking a strong enemy gun position, he showed great courage and coolnes. Under the fire of five maching guns he led his platoon forward, and it was very greatly due to his leadership that the position was taken with very few casualties. Subsequently his work in re-organising and carrying on to the remaining objective was excellent"
