manuscript on thick ivory paper, 242ff. each with 15ll. flowing black naskh, gold and red roundels between verses, gold margins between black rules, numerous illuminated palmettes and roundels in the margins marking textual divisions, sura heading in gold outlined in black, associated marginal palmettes, (slightly stained and smudged, margins damaged and trimmed), opening page with full illumination in red, blue and gold, the text within lobed arabesque and interlace roundels on a red scrolling vine ground, colophon not signed or dated, recent brown morocco binding with simple decoration, Mamluk stamped leather doublures
