manuscript on fine ivory paper, 320ff. plus five flyleaves, each with 14ll. strong black naskh within gold clouds, red and blue punctuation, gold and coloured rosettes between verses, fine red naskh Persian interlinear translation, red and gold margins between green, light blue and black rules, outer blue rule and gold cusped stripe, the margins with a black, red and blue naskh commentary within gold leafy frames, the juz, hizb and sijda positions marked with gold and coloured marginal cartouches, similar shaped cartouches in the upper corners with the name of the current sura, cartouches above each page in two colour gold with a repeated qur'anic phrase, (negligible occasional smudging, otherwise excellent condition), with FOUR ILLUMINATED DOUBLE PAGES, the opening with medallion design, the second with the opening verses of the Qur'an within elaborate borders, the penultimate with another medallion design, the last with the table of contents, colophon written by Zain al-Abidin al-Sultani al-Isfahani and dated 1287, also stating the the Qur'an was prepared for the great merchant Aqa Muhammad .... (name erased), in ORIGINAL LACQUER BINDING, the exterior of each with very finely drawn flowers within a border of floral cartouches, the doublures with scrolling golden flowering vine on a maroon ground around a floral medallion with pendants, the smaller cartouche pendants inscribed 'hasb-i-farmayish mawlani al-Mu'tamin Aqa Muhammad .......' and 'raqam kamtarin Mustafa al-Imami, 1287'
