An Austrian mother of pearl and brass inlaid macassar ebony bookcase, attributed to Ludwig Schmitt, moulded rectangular top inlaid with a band of stylised decoration, above a central rectangular glazed door concealing adjustable shelves, with a long draw below, flanked on either side by partly glazed doors, the bottom sections decorated with an elaborate inlaid design, also concealing adjustable shelves, the doors and drawer each fitted with brass angled handles and lockplates
