John Taylor, Rochdale: An unusual fast oscillating silver openface keyless chronograph pocket watch in plain case, the reverse with engraved stylised initials D M and Masonic symbols, the white dial with Roman numerals and outer 2 x 16 pulsations ring, subsidiary seconds and sweep centre seconds rotating once in two seconds, the slide in the band arresting the balance wheel, the dial inscribed Williams Patent No. 4762, sole maker John Taylor, Rochdale, the frosted gilt ¾-plate movement signed by the maker and numbered 2174 24854, jewelled to the centre with screwed chatons, the fast oscillating monometallic balance with ruby endstone and lever escapement, the case hallmarked Chester 1902
