Lot Essay

Sir Frederick Adair Roe (1789-1866), 1st Bt., was the son of William Roe (1748-1822) of Wittsdean, Sussex, and Susannah Margarte Thomas. Frederick was knighted in 1832 and the same year was appointed Chief Magistrate at Bow Street. He married Mary Knowles in 1831 and was created a baronet in 1836
