A GEORGE IV SCOTTISH SHAPED-CIRCULAR SALVER, on four foliage feet, the border cast with bacchanalian masks, fruit, foliage, shells and scrolls, chased with a band of scrolls and foliage on a matted ground and engraved with presentation inscriptions and crest, by Mitchell & Son, Glasgow, 1825, the reverse engraved Mitchell & Son Fecit., Gray & Son Sculpt.

The crest is that of Burnes, for The Revd. John Burnes D.D. The inscription records the presentation of the salver to him by the Heritors of the Parish of Glasgow in 1826. An inscription to the reverse of the salver states 'This is one of four pieces of plate presented to the Revd. Dr. Burnes by the Honble. Mungo Nutter Campbell, Lord Provost of Glasgow', and continues with various names of Heritors of the Barony Parish
