A GEORGE III SILVER-GILT COMPOSITE TEA SERVICE, comprising a teapot and stand, the stand on three ball feet, the teapot with curved spout, two-handled sugar basin and cover with reeded vine bracket handles, a tea caddy and a cream jug, each with applied band of basket weave and with husk borders, a pair of circular muffin dishes and domed covers, and a glass butter dish, cover and stand, the stand on four palmette feet, each with laurel and beaded border, the covers with foliage and acanthus bud finials, each engraved with a coat-of-arms and Earl's coronet, by John Emes, 1803 and 1804 and Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard, 1813

The arms are those of Shirley impaling Mundy for Robert 7th Earl Ferrers and his second wife Elizabeth, daughter of Wrightson Mundy of Markeaton, whom he married in 1719. Both he and his wife died in 1827 (2)
