Lot Essay

These wall-lights are designed in the Louis XVI antique manner, and with their serpentined laurel-wrapped branches springing from a veil-festooned flower-vase, their pattern relates to the ormolu arabesque-branched 'vase' lights manufactured in 1784 by the Parisian bronzier François Rémond (P. Verlet, Les Bronzes Dorés Français du XVIII Siècle, Paris, 1987, fig. 38, p. 45)
