A CHELSEA CLARET-GROUND OVAL DISH painted in the atelier of James Giles, the centre with a bunch of fruit and flowers within an oval gilt line cartouche, the border with loose bouquets within shaped gilt scroll, flowering foliage and hatched cartouches, reserved on a claret ground and beneath a turquoise and gilt feather-moulded rim (small rim chip, slight rubbing to ground colour), gold anchor mark, circa 1765
