Provenance: Philip Robinson Library, sold Sotheby's London 22.11.88 (lot 24). The drawings in this and the following 9 lots were included in an album of Chinese watercolours. The album (see lot ... below) has a pencilled note on the flyleaf tracing the provenance to Thomas Phillips which says "Purchased at the sale of Alex Davidson Esq" (30 April 1817) Phillips MS. 24024 (3)
