Contemporary full maroon morocco, sides and spines decorated in gilt, g.e., ownership stamp of W.H.T. Wright on font paste-down (joints a little rubbed), the two volumes contained in one cloth slipcase.
SPECIAL LARGE PAPER EDITION of the work first published in 1833 as part of The Naturalist's Library. The text is reset with wide margins and double-ruled borders and the plates have been retouched and newly coloured and coloured scenic backgrounds added, and the names are in English instead of Latin.
