Three volumes, 8° (215 x 130 mm.), 7 charts, 4 of which are folding and 9 plates, 8 of which are coloured aquatints (lacking half-titles and list of plates; some slight spotting and paper discolouration).

FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. The expedition in the ship Rurick commanded by Von Kotzebue, and sponsored by Count Romanzoff, sailed to Brazil, stopping at Rio de Janeiro, then went by way of Cape Horn to Chili, Tahiti, Pitcairn, and Radack, to Kamtchatka. The return was made via New Archangel, California, Hawaii, Marianas, Philippines, and St. Helena. A number of groups of Islands in the Pacific Ocean area of Easter Island were discovered and named in honour of other Russian explorers. Abbey Travel 596; Sabin 38291 (3)
