4° (238 x 185 mm.), additional engraved title with the Arms of Great Britain, printed title, engraved dedication to the Earl of Oxford, table of distances, 10 engraved maps double-page and folding, plate of St. German's Church and 13 engraved views in the text (engraved title and general map just shaved). Old calf gilt (recently rebacked).

One of the earliest descriptions of Cornwall, written in 1584, but not published until 1728. Norden was the first to insert roads on English maps and he also invented the system of triangular distance tables. The maps of the various Hundreds show all the County Seats with the names of their owners and the roads are indicated merely as bridges over rivers. Upcott I p.78
