I slightly cockled, but in the main, the plates and mounts exceptionally fine and clean), contemporary black half morocco and cloth boards, upper covers lettered in gilt, spines gilt in 6 compartments, g.e. (joints and corners slightly rubbed; small abrasion in upper cover of vol. III), gilt morocco label with Elwes coat-of-arms on upper covers
A FINE COPY OF THE FINEST AND RAREST ISSUE with the plates hand-coloured and mounted on card in the style of watercolours. Bound, unusually, with 4 title-pages; the title to vol. I with the vignette Entrance to the Holy Sepulchre, is repeated (with the numeral changed) in vol. IV, and the vol. III title (sometimes missing) is present as is the leaf with the vignette descriptions, but it is bound without the two leaves of text Bethleham and Idumea. Abbey Travel 385; Tooley 401 (4)
