JACOB AND HALSE. [Terrestrial Globe]. London, dated 1809.
A terrestrial pocket globe, diameter 2 ¾ inches (70mm). 12 hand-coloured engraved gores, title overlabel, prime meridian through London, marked with the tracks of Anson and Cook's first voyage. Original varnish, metal pinions (a few light abrasions, small crack around north polar pinion). Contained in original imitation fishskin covered case, interior lined with celestial gores, hand-coloured green (case slightly cracked, lacking clasps). cf. Schimdt Budapest Exhibition No. 63/64.
