Cuneo visited Euope in 1907 and 1911 and was amongst the first to introduce modern paintings to Uruguay. He later taught at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Montevideo, exhibited widely in Euope and Uruguay, making his reputation primarily as a landscape painter
