A GERMAN GILTMETAL-MOUNTED ENGRAVED CYLINDRICAL TANKARD
Circa 1800

Engraved with a begging dog beneath the initials IZ enclosed within a circle formed by a crowned snake and held by two gentlemen standing to either side, flanked by foliage and beneath a foliage band, with scroll handle, the stepped giltmetal cover moulded and chased with stars, anthemion and flutes, with foliage-mould finial and dolphin thumbpiece
