This pier-glass, with its upspringing bullrush and acanthus-scrolls, relates to the oeuvre of Johann Georg Ziegler (cf. a pier-gable and glass by his workshop in the Eremitage bei Bayreuth, illustrated in Heinrich Kreisel, Die Kunst des Duetschen Möbels, vol. 2, fig. 700)
