Lot Essay

The stamp of CR flanking a crown is the inventory mark of Casa Reale, the Royal household of Parma under the Bourbons. The additional initial C before each inventory number was used by their Royal summer residence, the Palazzo di Colorno (see: The J. Paul Getty Museum Journal, Aquisitions 1984, volume 13, 1985, pp. 76 - 79)
