The inscription on the last bowl loosely translates as follows:
"For the last five hundred years the start of autumn has as of old been welcomed by floating and lingering in a boat. Tonight the moon over the Eastern Mountains seem just like that autumn in the renxu year. A traveller caught some fish near the Red Cliff. The fishermen brought wine from Huangzhou, leaving a solitary crane to perch on a little boat by the banks of the river amid the myriad mountains".
