This vessel is of a type called hu by the Chinese archaeologist who unearthed similar vessels at the Chengzi site in Zuchengxian, Shandong province, from the stratum corresponding to the Longshan culture. See Kaogu Xuebo, 1980, no.3, pl.67, fig.33
