Georges Jacob (1768-1803) and François-Honoré-Georges Jacob (1770-1841), Jacob Frères (1796-1803)

The Jacob Frères R. Meslée stamp is that employed by the partnership of Georges and François-Honoré-Georges Jacob between 1796-1803. The original Georges Jacob (1739-1814) handed over the running of the business to his two eldest sons in 1796. The death of his son Georges II in 1803 brough an end of Jacob Frères but the firm continued as Jacob-Desmalter under François-Honoré-Georges
