Bacchanal with Silenus (B.XIII, 240,20; H.V,3; Royal Academy cat.75)

engraving, circa 1470-5, a good, strong, but later impression on fine laid paper with watermark, small Circle (S.B. & D.L. wmk. 13, cf. Briquet 2925-7, Dated 1484-1552), with margins at the right and bottom, trimmed just inside the platemark at the top and the left showing nearly the complete subject, two surface losses on Silenus and his companion to the left, a few minor losses filled in with pencil, a small hole at the top, a pencil inscription at the upper left corner, some staining and discolouration, other lesser defects, laid in places at the reverse sheet edges
